Paul Brand's Retirement Rocking Chair

Paul Brand retired from the University of Alabama in Huntsville in the 1990's.

He was the Director of Athletics at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH) during the 1980s and 1990s, a significant figure in UAH's sports history who oversaw the Chargers' growth, including the hiring of new coaches like baseball's Bobby Pierce in 1994 as part of the program's expansion. He was instrumental in developing the university's athletic programs (adding at least 8 sports) during a formative era and spearheaded UAH's transition to NCAA Division I.

Upon early retirement due to illness, he was offered a gold watch, but instead, he opted for this hand-crafted University of Alabama at Huntsville rocking chair. which represents chair American Craftsmanship as its finest. A gorgeous reminder of his days at UAH. This commemorative chair is finely detailed with the UAH logo of the time on solid maple hardwood.
